Gabby had a seizure on 6/5/22 while driving home from a baby shower and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. After two weeks of appointments and imaging tests, it has been discovered that she has an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her brain. More simply, a tangle of malformed veins in which blood does not flow properly. She has moderate swelling in her brain, and at least three aneuryms in the AVM that are at risk of rupturing. She will undergo open surgery on her brain at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, to remove malformation. As you can imagine, this will be a difficult surgery with a difficult recovery.
