Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
This is to keep everyone updated.

Freida went to a doctor's appointment in Elkin on Thursday and was ambulanced to Baptist with a blockage in her colon.  2 AM operation on the colon revealed a mass and part of the colon was taken out; also removed a hernia.  Doctor felt good about the operation.  After the operation, however, she was not able to keep liquids down so she was given a tube to drain the stomach which she hated.  Some heart issues as well. Last night the liquids began to pass through so that was a good thing.  For a while she had some pretty rough throw ups with chest pains.  Today (10-11) she has been in pain but is doing a bit better tonight.  The good thing is that she didn't have to put that tube in.  She will be in the hospital for a while and Sandy, Barry, Allen and Janet are keeping 24-7 watch.  After the hospital she will be in rehab for a while.  Feel free to direct questions to Janet  speerj@lmc.edu and also let me know other people I should add to this list.   No visitors at this time, please.  She's just too worn out!  Thank you, however,  for your prayers.  (Note.  There will be all kinds of places on this site to donate money.  Please ignore.  This is only for your information.
