In early November of this year I underwent a number of tests and it was determined that I have cancer. My life was flipped on its ear. The cancer is not the same type I successfully got rid of in 2003. It’s a difficult to treat cancer that may or may not have metastasized to my bones. There are two masses in my left armpit. My dr. Is hoping to shrink them with chemotherapy, and then possibly do surgery. Unfortunately, the larger of the two masses has caused lymphedema in my left arm. It’s annoying and sometimes I feel like Popeye! But that is doable, thanks to wonderful PTs at Methodist Hospital, and Mary, who loyally massages my arm daily and applies a cream that looks disturbingly like Crisco. This time has already been an adventure, and I get my port on Monday and chemo starts on Thursday. Yipes. I am nervous and scared, but I also want to get this show on the road. I feel best when things are in motion. There’s been so much “hurry up and wait” these past weeks. Let’s get her done. That said, please know that I feel incredibly blessed! There are so many surprising gifts in adversity and darkness. Each one of you is a gift. Thanks to you all for supporting and loving me through this! You make such a difference.

Mary or I will be updating this site as I go along.  I would love to hear from you. No phone calls please (you know me) but emails (fraver@comcast.net (mailto:fraver@comcast.net)) and texts would be swell. Thanks!
