Welcome to Karen's  CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement! Thank you for visiting.

Karen was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2004. Her condition worsened in 2012. She began requiring oxygen 24 hrs/day and initiated treatment at National Jewish Health (Denver, Colorado). Shortly thereafter, she was evaluated for lung transplantation and deemed a favorable candidate for a double lung transplant. Over the following four years, her disease exacerbated such that it became evident a lung transplant was the best treatment option. She was listed for transplant August 23, 2016.
