Week 1 in hospital when Papa could still stand, sing, talk, eat and and drink his medicine

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Papa has been going through a lot since he has been in and out of the hospital for the past seven weeks. What started out as simple hematuria (blood in urine) due to radiation cystitis (from radiation therapy done about two years ago for his prostate cancer), has multiplied into more complicated and life-threatening health issues such as renal failure, severe sepsis and metabolic encephalopathy.

Our family has been planning a surprise birthday party for Papa for his 80th on June 16.  Of course, we had to cancel that and wish to thank everyone who made the effort to celebrate with Papa in the hospital. Let's all continue to honor Frank, Paquito, Kit, Manong, Tito/Kuya Paquit, or Lolo wherever this health journey takes him!
