Hello everyone. It is with the help of my children that I am writing this story of my battle with cancer. In November 2018, I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. It was caught early, and in December of 2018 I underwent a total hysterectomy and lymph node dissection. Surgery was a success, the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes and was contained in the original tumor that was found. I was considered in remission and underwent frequent doctor visits and was "under surveillance" . In the spring of 2020 I started with a cough that I figured was allergies, or related to possible mold in the ductwork of my house. After awhile the cough became persistent and was causing headaches, so I went to my doctor to get something to calm the cough. They prescribed me steroids and an inhaler, thinking I had just an upper respiratory infection. The doctor decided to do a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia, because if that was the problem then the treatment would be different. The chest x-ray showed that I had stage 4 metastatic lung cancer.

I started chemo in early July, I went thru 6 treatments and responded quite well. I completed chemo in late October, and had follow up testing the following several weeks. The week before Thanksgiving I had some headache issues and dizziness. We then found out that the cancer had spread to my brain. I got set up to undergo whole brain radiation treatment, which I finished on New Years Eve. I started on a pill form of chemo that caused some pretty terrible side effects. I had another CT scan and a follow up appointment with my doctor, and it was discovered that the cancer had come back very aggressively, and there were no more treatment options.

I signed onto hospice care last week, I will be moving in with my youngest daughter and her husband soon. I cannot thank everyone enough for the outpouring of love and support throughout this entire process. My kids will update this website regularly with my progress. I am having a hard time keeping up with all the messages and phone calls. Thank you all very much, and God Bless
