Gary Hogan Fr. Gary Hogan

When some digestive problems emerged in December, Fr. Gary thought little of it. He set out to increase the health of his diet and employ some homeopathic remedies. The results were mixed but ultimately not entirely successful. Over the course of the subsequent three months, Fr. Gary lost about 25 pounds. Then, on March 25, he had a minor stroke. But he recovered quickly with no signs of lasting effect and returned home from the hospital on March 27. He was, however, still dealing with his digestive problems. Finding it difficult to properly digest most of what he was eating, his doctors order a scan for him on March 29 in the hopes to identify the problem. The results came back the next day indicating that he had diffuse liver metastasis. Needless to say, the news shocked Fr. Gary, as well as his doctors, friends, family, and religious community. Fr. Gary continues to undergo testing to ascertain the origins and nature of his cancer so as to determine the best response. At present, much about his ailment remains unknown and medical professionals are working to grasp the nature of his condition.
