Welcome to Kevin's CaringBridge site.

"I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1

Kevin is now 10-years-old.  He has a Mitochondiral Disease which causes frequent seizures, developmental delays and autism.  He is non-verbal.   In laymen's terms, his Mitochondial Disease means that Complex I and IV of his Electron Transport Chain are not functioning properly.  This means that his body does not produce enough ATP.  The brain needs lots of ATP and when it doesn't get it, neurological problems occur.

This sounds serious and problematic, but God has worked miracles in Kevin's life.   Kevin can walk, run, swim, ride a tricycle, feed himself, use a regular cup.  He is fully toilet trained and can communicate a lot of his desires to us.

He love to swing, swim, ride bikes, ride in a wagon, stroller, mini-jeep, convertible or anything that moves.  He loves bounce houses and water parks.  He loves to eat omelets, hot dogs, eggs, popcorn and pizza.  He enjoys jumping on the bed with brother Brian.  He is always happy about going to church and school.
