Welcome to Finley’s site! This is the easiest way to keep everyone informed while maximizing our time with our boys.
A brief history: after consulting with many doctors and specialists, we decided we were safe to expand our family by one more sweetheart. Thankfully, the first few months were as easy with Finley as they were with Grey! Unfortunately, dangerous symptoms kicked in around the same time they probably (but unknowingly) did with Greyson.
On October 17th, at 26w2d pregnant, and after months of completely healthy and normal prenatal visits, my blood pressure spiked to 195/125 and wasn’t coming down. I had literally no other symptoms, but my doctor knew to send me to the ER. There I received IV treatments for my blood pressure, magnesium sulfate to protect our brains (remember how much I hated that stuff when I was on it with Grey? Yeah... still terrible.), and a round of steroid shots in case I needed to deliver Finn immediately. Thankfully things stabilized enough that they were able to set a goal. Although Finley isn’t due until January 21st, the new goal was to keep me stable until December 10th and deliver at 34 weeks. Unfortunately my body is unable to handle the placenta without damaging my liver, kidneys, and other important things. So even though Finley is cozy and bouncing and passing all of his biophysical profile ultrasounds with perfect scores of 8/8, he’ll be headed to the NICU soon where we are CERTAIN he will be cared for and loved on just as much as Greyson was.
