Finley Gallagher

Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Finley. We've been overwhelmed by the love, support, prayers and words of hope and encouragement from all of you. We're using this site to keep you all updated on his progress. Thank you for visiting.

Finley Fitzgerald Gallagher was born Monday, 2/27, at 7:52am.  Immediately after his birth, there were concerns; a heart murmur and a variance in oxygen levels in the blood between his upper body and lower body. Eventually, three heart defects were detected. 


On Thursday, 3/2, Finley spent 4 1/2 hours in open heart surgery to repair these defects. We were fortunate to be at the Mother Baby Center at Abbott NorthWestern and have access to Children's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House, all at the same location. We know we're in the very best hands as the care has been exceptional.  


This has been a very emotional week.  We've only held our baby boy briefly after he was born which is not nearly long enough.  Rory and Maeve are too young to come to the cardio vascular intensive care unit to meet their new baby brother in person. We're hopeful that, in the weeks to come, the IV's and support machines will no longer be needed and we'll each be able to hold a healthy little Finley.   


We have figured out pretty good coverage for the kids over the next few weeks, but will undoubtedly need a little extra help from time to time. Right now, all that we ask, is that you keep Finley in your thoughts and prayers.
