Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Last week, while watching the Green Bay Packers play the Detroit Lions, Mike choked on some pasta. He felt that something was stuck in his throat. We waited until #12 Aaron Rodgers took a knee - ensuring a Packer win💚💛 and left for the ER. Two days later, after having a scope to see if something was stuck in his throat, the doctor ( We call him Dr Dick - because he was kinda a dick ) said - it's cancer. Esophageal cancer. That was Tuesday, September 27. Since then, our amazing GP - Dr P has put together an Dream Team of Oncologists from Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Today, we found out that it is stage 3, but has only affected the esophagus and a few localized lymph nodes. His liver is healthy and his bones are clear. This was great news. Mike will start 5 weeks of a chemo/radiation therapy to shrink the mass followed by surgery.. Mike has forgotten his Facebook log in ☺️ If you would like to send him a note of support , please do so here. Thank you for visiting.
