Welcome to our CaringBridge website, Family and Friends of Brenda. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. 


As many of you know Brenda/Mom was diagnosed in early December with what they believe to be multiple myeloma (biopsy in process).  This was a shock to all of us. On December 13th she underwent a 10 hour procedure, removing the mass on her spine and inserting a 9 inch rod between T2 and T9.  She has been fitted with a torso brace, which she will wear for approximately three months.   We are happy to report that she is doing well, has been able to sit up in a chair for several hours over the past few days. Although exhausted, she remains strong and positive.  We are hopeful to have pathology results back sometime the week of December 18th and will determine the next course of this journey based on those results.  She is in for a long haul, but through her faith, support from family and all of her friends, we are confident she will pull through this with the spirit in which we all know her, always positive.


Brenda is not quite ready for visitors, but as things progress we will certainly share the details with all of you. She is currently in ICU, and the plan is to move her from the hospital to rehab at some point this week. We will let you know once she moves. Thanks to some very special angels, our hope is that she will be nearby at D'Youville rehab in Lowell.  Once we have a better understanding of the next steps in this journey, we will share a calendar for all of you who have so kindly offered to visit, share meals or take her to appointments.
