Today is Tuesday, March 10. It was just over two weeks ago that our lives changed forever.
Monday morning February 23, 2009 at just about 8am Fahim, at work at the Regency Furniture Warehouse fell from a height of 15 - 20 feet to a concrete floor severely injuring his head, back, and ribs. He was flown to the emergency room at PG Hospital Center in Cheverly, MD and has remained in the Critical Care Unit since then. We have been through a terrible experience as our family which includes four children, Suleiman (22yrs), Carlin (20yrs), Meladeh (17yrs), Amber (14yrs) and me (Sharon, his wife) reacted with shock and overwhelming emotions. Fahim remains in a coma (16 days) and has had surgery to relieve the swelling in his brain, had his heart (2/26) restarted after cardiac arrest that evening. He has suffered pneumonia, high fever, and kidney failure. Yesterday one lung collapsed and later he had a seizure. I plan to go back and fill in the events of the past 16 days, but for now you can see the latest journal entries until I have a chance to retell the events, miracles, and amazing personal reminders that God is in control and that He has a plan which is much larger than what I can begin to comprehend in the midst of all this tragedy and chaos. Please pray for Fahim to be healed and that our family will be strengthened as we face adversity together.
