Mike noticed a lump on the back of his right thigh just above his knee in the Spring of 2021. The lump was growing in size so he decided to go to a doctor to have it checked-out in September. After a biopsy at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, he was diagnosed with cancer in December. Also in December, a PET scan was performed and determined that the cancer was not just in his leg but also in his right kidney and lymph nodes under his left armpit. The type of cancer is either clear cell sarcoma or melanoma, and is still to be determined , although his doctor, Dr. Andrew Brohl, is leaning towards melanoma. Regardless of which type it is, the recommended treatment is immunotherapy. We appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers for his full recovery. Humor is also encouraged!
