Ezra Clark

On February 29, 2016 when we arrived at Children's Hospital of Orange County. Nothing could have prepared us for the news we were about to receive on February  30, 2016; Ezra was diagnosed with stage 3b Burkitt Lymphoma. The definition, according to WEBMD.com for Burkitt Lymphoma -Burkitt lymphoma (http://www.webmd.com/cancer/lymphoma/burkitt-lymphoma-prognosis-diagnosis-treatments) is a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (http://www.webmd.com/cancer/lymphoma/understanding-hodgkins-disease-basic-information) in which cancer (http://www.webmd.com/cancer/) starts in immune cells called B-cells. Recognized as the fastest growing human tumor, Burkitt lymphoma is associated with impaired immunity and is rapidly fatal if left untreated. However, intensive chemotherapy (http://www.webmd.com/cancer/questions-answers-chemotherapy) can achieve long-term survival in more than half the people with Burkitt lymphoma. Our 4 year old baby has cancer, I didnt know the many different ways my heart could hurt, cry and break.
