Ezra Min-Soo Joung

Welcome to our baby Ezra's page. On 10/6/2016, Joseph and I went in for our 20 week anatomy scan and to find out if we were having a boy or a girl. During our scan, there were several things found that were abnormal. We were referred to the Advanced Fetal Care Center at the University of Maryland two days later. We had another scan done and discussed the results in detail with the doctors. We were told that Ezra had a couple holes in his heart, brain abnormalities along with hydrocephalus. He also had a left kidney that didn't develop and had cysts on it. All of this came as a shock to us. We were advised to have an abortion because Ezra had little brain showing in his scan. We were told that he would probably pass away in utero or if born he would not have the ability to do anything. The doctor pushed us to terminate but said that he would support our decision even if it was to continue the pregnancy. I had an amniocentesis done to check for genetic issues all of which came back fine. My husband and I do not believe it is our decision to take a life that God has created so we went ahead with the pregnancy praying for God's guidance and direction. We had many people praying for us and our baby and that God would do a miracle for this little one. We are pleased to announce that on February 4, 2016 Ezra was born and doing better then any one could ever have imagined!!!  Please continue to pray for our baby Ezra. He has a long way to go but we know God is at work in his life. As we continue this journey with Ezra, we will continue to provide updates on how he is progressing. God is Good!!!
