Evelyn Suzanne Rankin

Evelyn arrived at St. Vincent's Medical Center on Sunday,  December 17th, in a state of sepsis,  with endocarditis,  and blood clots throughout her entire body.  While working at getting strong enough to have open heart surgery (valve replacement) we had no idea that a blood clot on her brain was growing at an alarming rate.  By Friday,  she had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, was unable to communicate or move the right side of her body.  She was she was immediately transferred to Mayo where she underwent emergency open cranial surgery to remove the clot and blood.
