 Angel Down, Needs Our Help!

One of our own has fallen and needs OUR help to rise again.

I first met Eve and Bob at a workshop on love, intimacy, and sexuality (hai.org). From the start, the love between these two was palpable. Their pure happiness, the love they shared, their openness and joy was infectious! It’s the kind of love you don’t witness every day.

Bob and Eve had only recently realized their dream to move to Costa Rica. They were settling into their new life in a tropical paradise when Eve collapsed in December 2017. In late December, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and the day after Christmas, Eve had surgery to remove most of her stomach. However, during the surgery, the doctors found that her abdominal cavity was too infected to finish. They put her on antibiotics to fight the infection and by the end of January, were able to stabilize her enough for Eve to be airlifted from Enrique Baltodano Briece Hospital in Costa Rica to Browards Health Medical Center in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

In Florida, doctors were able to successfully treat her infection but determined that Eve was too weak for chemo or further stomach surgery. They recommended hospice. Since early March, Eve has been in a long-term acute care facility in West Palm Beach with Bob steadfastly by her side. She has been doing physical therapy and getting stronger but is not able to eat and is losing weight (currently down to 96.8 lbs).

Bob and Eve have located an Acute Care Hospital in Los Angeles (Samuel Oschin Cancer Center of Cedars-Sinai) who specialize in treating Eve’s specific type of stomach cancer. We need to raise $25,000 to transport Eve via Angel MedFlight (https://www.angelmedflight.com/)  (how appropriate, right?!?).
Bob would like to transfer her by May 15th.

Can You Help???

1. Please contribute to Eve's transport.
Donations or loans of any amount will be most gratefully received. To be repaid, please write "loan" in the comments field.

2. Help spread the word.
Please share this with everyone you know who knows Bob or Eve or may be in a position to help this most Loving couple.

3. Stay tuned for updates.
Dear Bob is going to need our love and support MORE THAN EVER when they arrive in Los Angeles. He will need a place to stay, for starters...

4. Keep Bob and Eve in your thoughts, prayers, and hearts...

Let's help get Eve on the road to recovery.

In Loving Service,
Kim Rose and Karen Fontana
