Jennifer Alspektor Eva's JDM Journey

First post: Jun 27, 2022 Latest post: Jul 11, 2022
Welcome to Eva's CaringBridge website! We are using it to keep family and friends updated about her diagnosis and journey to recovery.

On 5/28/22 Eva was diagnosed with JDM (Juvenile Dermatomyositis), an auto-immune disease that attacks muscle cells. As a result, her muscles were weakened and damaged, eliminating (for now) her ability to stand, walk, run, jump or play. She has been receiving treatment and - Hallelujah - her immune system is responding and finally calming down. As her flare dies down, her pain is lessening. Now is the time for her body's healing to begin! She will receive physical therapy to regain her strength and movement, and continue to take medications/receive infusions. She has a lot of hard work ahead, but recovery is possible.  The journey thus far has been a difficult one, but she's an incredibly strong, brave little girl! Follow this blog for prayer requests and updates.  We appreciate all prayers and words of hope and encouragement as Eva navigates treatment and recovery.

Much love,
Jon, Jenn, Nate, Drew and Eva
