Evan (21 years old) is a proud soldier in the Army National Guard for over 3 years now. On Novemeber 12th Evan went for a run with his Platoon during his drill weekend. Two miles into the run Evan collapsed due to a cardiac arrest. The doctors initially thought it was due to a virus that went to his heart. After further testing it still unknown why he went into cardiac arrest. The fast and quick response of the men and women he was running with saved his life! CPR was administered 35+ minutes by Sgt. Dutton, Spc. Vogts and EMS upon there arrival. EMS had to shock Evan four times upon their arrival because his heart was in vfib. They transported him to Freeman Neosho hospital to stabilze him, after a very short time he went to Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He was brought directly to ICU.
Evan has three jobs to support his family of 4 (soon to be five). His fiancé, Jessica is able to stay home so she can take care of their 2 year old daughter, Janaya and 11 month old son, Jack. Jessica is due to have another baby January fourth or sooner.
