~*Evan's Story*~
On the morning of Friday July 29th, we started our day like any normal morning, little did we know this day would be unlike any other. Tyson and I were both off from work. We planned to work around the house, we even had a date planned for later that evening.
I didn't feel well that morning and figured I was just tired and dehydrated. I laid in bed most of the morning, when I felt my water break.
In complete disbelief, Tyson and I rushed to Dartmouth to meet with the mid-wives. When the un-imaginable became our terrifying reality, it felt as though the world suddenly stopped, and spun violently out of control.
Gasping for air and trying to find strength, strength for ourselves, and strength for our unborn child, while slowly crumbling inside.
The thoughts that rushed through our head as beloved doctors and nurses (now family) tried everything to keep our baby inside. I prayed and wished and begged, "Please dear baby, stay safely inside. You are too early, too little, let's grow together for just a little longer."
Early Saturday morning, July 30th, our sweet baby had very different plans. I pushed with fear, and at 2:47 a.m. our sweet baby was born. The NICU team took to his side, and our Doctor shouted out, It's a boy! A boy, a sweet baby boy, but our hearts melted when we heard he is alive, he is breathing...he is our miracle.
It was that moment we knew this was our journey, our joy, our baby boy. We were no longer just two, but a family of three, and Evan our miracle deserves nothing less but strength and courage mixed with a whole lot of love.
