Please scroll down to the last entry. Thank you, Nancy.
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Eug has been battling Head and Neck cancer since September 2016. His specific type of cancer is nasopharyngeal. He began treatment in December of 2016, but had an immediate setback with a sepsis infection, which landed him in the hospital over Christmas. The infection made his immune system rally and attack his main tumor, which was located directly behind in nose at the top of his throat. He still underwent treatment of chemo. and radiation during the month of January. He continued with two more courses of chemo. till the end of May. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread but he is still fighting to contain it and reduce its effects. He is eating really well, and can finally taste everything again. He can eat anything he wants, but he still resists eating Dunkin Doughnuts, no matter how hard I try to go there and buy them (darn). Most days he does well keeping his pain away with his meds, and he is able to do light exercise like walking. He enjoys going out to eat depending on his energy level. He is not giving up, and intends to start another round of chemo this week (Aug. 21st)., to at least reduce the effects of the cancer that has spread. Give him a shout-out on this site - he'd love to hear from you. - Nancy
