I have recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma (cancer that forms in the part of the white blood cells called plasma cells). Doctors think that they have caught this early and my prognosis is good.
It seems that there are certain steps to treat this disease (treatment for 3-6 months, stem cell transplant (not sure of duration) and then maintenance for the rest of my life) and they will be starting step one this month, I believe.
