On April 5, we learned a spot on my lung was Adenocarcinoma Cancer.  Many Thanks to all doctors and nurses at Lemmen Holton.  On April 25, Nancy and I met with the thoracic surgeon and May 1 our surgeon performed a lobectomy to remove the lower lobe of my left lung.  During this procedure, 18 lymph nodes were also removed and tested.  The pathology report identified that out of the 18 nodes that were removed, one tested positive. However, this is good news as the node was located close to the original tumor, indicating that the cancer likely has not spread.  

We are very thankful for a successful surgery and the amazing care we received at Spectrum Meijer Heart.  Many Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, aids and all support staff including the cleaning and room service.  

We will meet with the surgeon for post op follow up appointment on May 23.  Then on June 5 with a case manager of the "Multi-Specialty Team".  During the June 5 meeting we will learn of any recommendations for additional treatment.  Then if required we will meet with an oncologist to review further treatment options. 

 Currently I am home healing and feeling stronger each day. We are thankful the cancer was found early. We feel very blessed and praise God for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the church community. We are grateful for God's presence in this journey and give him the glory for providing peace and comfort in the last days, and his promises and faithful plan for me in the future.
