Eric suffered cardiac arrest (determined to be an electrical issue) 4 hours into a cross country road trip to take Sierra to Duke.  Right before it occurred he was talking with  Sierra and  me, so when he had the arrest, we knew something was very wrong and acted fast. 


First responders arrived quickly and worked on him on the side of the road.  When they could, they took him to an awaiting helicopter where he was life flighted to a Trauma 1 hospital.  


The hospital staff has been amazing!  All are exceptional at what they do as well as extremely caring and helpful to the family and friends.


We feel so blessed by the outreach from everyone!! So many are here at the hospital to support him and us, and there are many far away who have us in their thoughts and prayers and that means so much.  Eric needs so many prayers right now. 


Charlie has been a great comfort as he ‘dumbs down’ all the medical talk and helps us understand what’s going on.  Please read his updates below.
