Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Sept 17 I was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor by CT scan. On Sept 19 I underwent endoscopic surgery by Dr. Kebraiai to decompresss the ventricles and to get tumor biopsies.  Apart from significant post op confusion, all went well.  Two weeks later the biopsy results confirmed a grade 3-4 glioma (primary brain) tumor in the region of the thalamus obstructing drainage of the ventricles.

Brian Rank, medical director at health partners, got me together with Richard Peterson, a neuro-oncologist.  They were concerned that the nature of the tumor made it aggressive, but the position made surgical extraction problematic.  Today they consulted with surgeons at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  I am currently awaiting the results of that consult.

It is likely that I will have surgery followed by radiation and chemotherapy.
