On Sunday August 6, 2017 Eric suffered a severe brain trauma injury, at a refueling station, coming back from supporting a drill with the 715th Military Police company out of Melbourne Florida at Camp Blanding. He had to be rushed to hospital and needed emergency brain surgery, which ultimately saved his life. We are so grateful to so many people; everyone in his guard unit, Volusia County EMS, Ormand Hospital ER personnel, and Halifax Health Medical Hospital and the many Dr.s and nurses and health care professionals for their quick and competent actions and care that saved his life and continue to care for him today. God was truly watching over him and all those who aided in responding that they were able to move quickly and get Eric the care he needed.
Eric is blessed to have a solid support system of family and friends and the added reinforcement layer of his Army National Guard family, everyone has been a huge source of comfort, support and help to us now and will continue to be as Eric faces the next chapter and challenges ahead of him. There is no doubt he will meet this challenge and succeed.
The out pouring of love and support for Eric and us has been humbling. Many have asked about visiting, unfortunately he is still in ICU and for now are keeping it to immediate family, until things progress a bit more. Also no flowers are allowed in ICU. Thank you all for continued prayers for Eric, and us his family, we are all so blessed to have each of you in his corner and are so grateful. Thank you and love to all.
