Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Since early May 2017,  Eric struggled with reoccurring acute pancreatitis.  In fact, he was admitted into the hospital via the Emergency Department 3 separate times between May and September 2017.  During his most recent stay at Emory University Hospital on September 12, 2017,  we were told that Eric had pancreatic cancer, realized in a mass located at the head of his pancreas.   As incredibly heart breaking as this news was to hear,  Eric and I were grateful to learn from his physicians that the cancer appeared to be confined to his pancreas only, based on advanced MRI scans.

Eric's team of Emory Winship Cancer Institute physicians moved quickly in creating an aggressive treatment plan for Eric.  In fact, on September 25th Eric had a procedure where a stent was inserted to assist his hepatobiliary system and to allow him to better tolerate chemotherapy.  The following week, Eric started a 3  month treatment of chemotherapy given to him every 2 weeks to shrink and stop the growth of the mass in preparation for a surgical procedure to safely remove the mass known as the Whipple procedure.

We so appreciate your prayers, as well as your words of hope and encouragement.  Thank you for visiting.

With Love,

Eric and Lisa
