Envee was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia a very rare form of liver disease only effecting infants at just 2 months old. She underwent the Kasai procedure in hopes to restore bile flow in her liver as well as help prevent further damage and a potential transplant. Although the bile flow has been restored Envee’s labs have shown that she is going to need a new liver due to the damage that has already been done. Biliary Atresia has caused her a lot of nutritional challenges as well and we have struggled to keep her levels where they need to be and healthy enough to gain and maintain weight. At this time her team is preparing to put her on transplant list and when a perfect match is available either live or deceased donor she will be getting a new healthy liver.
