Hello friends and family! This is Melia DeLong (One of Emory's aunts!) We decided to create this site because of the incessant phone buzzing heard from Clay and Lauren's devices! ; ) Don't get us wrong! What an AMAZING support system they have and countless connections who desire to show love and encouragement! Yet, we need a way to allow you to receive updates with the knowledge that they family is indeed doing what is most vital and that is: being there for Emory wholeheartedly, focusing on frequent doctor/nurse visits, and then having REST! We know you all understand that they may be too overwhelmed business wise or even emotionally wise to return even a text or email.  Above all, we are grateful... Grateful you love us, love Emory, and (if you're visiting this site) that you are likely joining us in prayer! THANK YOU!!!!!

The following is an email we sent to out to our church body on Friday:

"My niece, Emory Slevin, daughter of Clay and Lauren, was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia today.  This all came about through a "random" (not random) wisdom tooth pull less than two weeks ago where they found a cyst. When the report came back they sent us immediately to Children's Hospital. Today they have done a bone marrow biopsy that we don't know the results for yet. They also did a chest x-ray which came back clear. They thought this was strange and makes us think we may have detected quite early.
Emory stated simply to me today when I first saw her..."He has a perfect and infallible plan.  It will all be okay.  Eventually."  That girl.  Such wise for 14. "

Since then:

"Emory Slevin Update: "Hey family! Emory's bone marrow biopsy results came back and there's no sign of the lymphoma there. Amazing! They won't start chemo until after her
CT scan results come back, probably on Monday. She still has an MRI scheduled & they will be drawing spinal fluid to test.  So far, the doctors are pretty surprised at how healthy
she is.  Also, they said she's had more visitors than any other patient on that floor!" (posted from a note to our family from Lauren Slevin)"
