Emma Williamson Emma Williamson Updates

First post: Feb 17, 2021 Latest post: Jun 24, 2021
Welcome to our website for baby Emma's NICU journey. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayer, support, and words of hope and encouragement.  As you probably already know, Emma Elizabeth Williamson was born on Thursday, Feb. 4th, 2021 at 25 weeks. The reason she came so early was because Shannon had preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure and signs of damage to another organ system, most often the liver and kidneys. It usually begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy in women whose blood pressure had been normal. After spending 4 days previous to delivery in the hospital on bed rest, it eventually became too much of a health risk to both of them for her to stay in Shannon's belly. Emma has a long journey ahead of her in the NICU, but we remain hopeful & optimistic that one day we will bring her home! Her due date was May 19, 2021 and we anticipate that, if everything goes well, she will come home sometime around this date. We kindly ask that you refer to this site for regular updates on Emma rather than calling & texting Seth & Shannon for updates. We will try our best to provide updates as often as we can. Thank you so much for visiting!
