Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Emily (my mom) has been diagnosed with End Stage Kidney failure. She has been fighting a courageous battle for the last 2 years managing her disease from home.  As a result of her failing kidneys, her bones have become weakened. Last week she suffered a spontaneous break of her femur at the hip which sent her to the hospital for 6 days.  Unfortunately, her weakened bones mean that she will be bedridden for the remainder of her life barring a miracle from God. She also will need heavy duty pain medication as the doctors anticipate that her hip will not heal, and  there is potential for other breaks.  Today, she is being discharged from the hospital and entering hospice care at home. My dad (Melvin) will be her primary caregiver with the aid of Hospice coming in a couple times a week.  As you may imaging this is a blow to our family, and we are in need of encouragement and support. We would love your prayers and words of encouragement as we try to make Mom as comfortable as possible. Mom's faith is strong. She continues to put her hope in Jesus as she awaits her time to see Him face to face.
