Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.   On April 29,2018 I woke up and went to the emergency room for leg pain that had recently gotten worse. From there, they referred me to an oncologist for further diagnosis. After several tests and a biopsy, I was diagnosed with Stage 2b Osteosarcoma. This type of cancer grows in your bones and soft tissue, and unfortunately I have it in my right leg. This is a very rare but very aggressive form of cancer that has completely turned my life upside down.

In a blink of an eye, I went from hanging out with friends and attending VCU to having to come home and withdraw from school temporarily. I will be going through intensive chemotherapy for the next 9 months and will need all the support I can get. I will have to have a major surgery that will require me to relearn how to walk with lots of physical therapy afterwards.

Although this is incredibly unfortunate, I will not let this change my outlook on life for one must modify their thinking to adapt to life’s curveballs. I will not allow cancer to define my life, it is just a hurdle that I WILL overcome. Cancer sucks but I will not allow it to take anything else from me or my family.
