Emily Getman

Hello family and friends. You are receiving this email because Emily will need your prayers for strength on her long road to recovery. As her doctor put it this a marathon not a sprint. Emily was admitted yesterday to MUSC with the best of care to help her fight a lung infection due to a flu virus. It is called ARDS which you can all google it to get more information.  The best way to fight this disease is to put Emily on an ECMO machine. This machines benefits outweigh the risks to help Emily fight this infection.  This machine is used to be a substitute for circulation of her blood to keep her body functioning while her lungs take a rest. It could be a 7-14 days process. This is something that we all know is serious but everyone here knows that this spunky strong  girl is a fighter just like her mama!!! I would ask for prayers, help and support for her all her family and friends.  I'm sure help around the house, taking care of Ben, healthy meals to keep up strength would be welcomed. They  certainly appreciate any support and  please contact Gina if you want to more information or want a visit. Please do not visit if you have had any illness in the the last week or have the slightest cold.  Together through unity, prayer and strength we will bring Emily back to her sassy self❤
