In late April I saw my doctor for a lump I found, and after a series of doctors appointments, mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy... yup, it's cancer!   Things moved pretty quickly after diagnosis on May 22nd.  On June 6th I had a lumpectomy and axillary dissection (that's a gross name for taking out a bunch of lymph nodes.)  Due to the size of the tumor and the fact that it was in my lymph nodes, it's classified as Stage 3A.  But the good news is that it's not in any other part of my body, and the doctors got everything out in surgery with negative margins.  I still have to go through chemo, radiation, and hormonal treatment (a 5-year pill) since it's an aggressive cancer and all it takes is one lone cell to come back.  I feel really positive and confident in my doctors and treatment plan, and my family and friends have all been so amazing in their love and support.  Thank you to everyone who has reached out or said a little prayer!
