Elyse Byrne

On March 9th, 2018 an amazing, little girl was born, Elyse Ayrlagail Byrne. She weighed 1 lbs. 3 oz. with the length of 11.5 in. Elyse was unfortunately born at 24 weeks, about 16 weeks too early. For being first time parents it was scary enough but this especially was unexpected. Elyse, being the little miracle she is, made it though the first few weeks after she was born but had many ups and downs that followed. The first couple of days were looking quite well and then things started to slide downhill. Elyse was originally intubated and put on a regular ventilator but due to her tiny body trying to fight for her life she started to have troubles keeping up. An oscillator was used to go further into support for her lungs . As things moved along, it continually had been an uphill battle.  Doctors decided to try steroids to help develop her lungs and so far it has gone very well- she is no longer intubated and can do a little more of the breathing on her own.  A long journey is head of us and we plan to make the best out of it taking everyday to find a blessing within. We truly do appreciate everyone's love and support!
