July 6, 2017. It was the day Ellie turned 13, and the evening she woke up from her sleep crying out from pain in both of her arms. An early Friday visit to the pediatrician and a weekend of getting worse, led to an ER visit on Monday. By Wednesday, July 12, our worst fears were superseded by a new reality. Ellie was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
