Ellie Jo decided to make an early appearance 1/09/17 at 0452. She surprised us not only with an early arrive but with a few congenital problems that required a helicopter ride to Levine's Children's Hospital where she began her road to recovery.  Ellie Jo was quickly diagnosed with Esophageal Atresia and Tracheoesophageal Fistula. These two conditions were repaired with one surgery. She has also been diagnosed with some vertebral abnormalities that shouldn't pose any problems now but may lead to scoliosis in the future. A ultrasound of her abdomen revealed an underdeveloped left kidney but her right kidney looks good and is functioning well. She also has a Coloboma in the left eye that will require an Ophthalmologist to determine its severity and how it may affect her. With all of that being said our Ellie Jo is proving to be a fighter. She powered through surgery that went well and continues to improve throughout recovery. Lindsey and I will remain by her side as often as we can but we find comfort in knowing she is surrounded by talented, skilled and loving nurses, doctors and techs who work tirelessly every day for our little girl. We also find greater comfort know she is showered in prayers and resting in the hands the holy spirit.
