Recently we received the most devastating news we will ever receive. Our worst nightmare has been given to us. Our daughter Elliott was diagnosed with DIPG which is a tumor on her brain stem. It is inoperable and there is no cure. The only treatment to have been shown to shrink it, is radiation, which she will start on Tuesday of next week. This will hopefully give us more time with her. Because what she has is rare the docs can’t tell us if she has a month or a couple of years but I do know that it is precious time. I know the internet is full of information and there is a lot of herbal claims as well, however please know that we have the one doctor in the nation that specializes in what Elliott has reviewing her case. She has assured us that the path we are taking is the right one. There is no cure. There is no other hospital that has a machine that can take this from our baby. Please know that we are doing everything we can for our child. We ask you all for you prayers, love and patience as we go through this awful process. We are broken beyond comprehension. We are breaking for not only her, but for her sister who will be losing her best friend and playmate. We are breaking for her friends who won’t understand, for the numerous people that she has made smile just by walking into the room with her red curls for our family who as loved her deeply since she entered this world that cold January day. And for us. For Kyle and I who have loved each other so much that we created two perfectly beautiful souls and will have to let one go.  Please be patient with us. We will try and answer texts, calls and posts as best as we can. Anyone that would like to visit please do. This is not just our last moments with her but yours as well. Please, if you want to call or FaceTime and she is doing well we will absolutely let you speak with her. If you want to visit, we have a lot of extra space in our home so please do. We are trying to get her to Disney before she won’t be able to enjoy it and we will try our best to come home but we will have to stay here for at least the next 6 weeks as she goes through her treatment. We are so appreciative for all of your friendships and love and will try to keep you all informed. Pray for our family as we continue to pray every second of every day for our bird.
