Ellen Palmer Ellen's Brain Surgery

First post: Mar 19, 2020 Latest post: Mar 20, 2020
As many of you know, in early November, I found out I have  a non-cancerous meningioma (tumor) in my brain on my optic nerve and pituitary gland, resting on some pretty important arteries that provide blood to my brain. I was set to have it removed through endoscopic endonasal surgery on March 27, which I assumed would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but I got a call on the 18th letting me know that my medical team is expediting all the non-elective surgeries that they can and my surgery is now on the 20th at 7:30am! I know everyone has a lot going on right now, but I'd really welcome your thoughts and prayers!

If you're into details, this link explains the brain surgery procedure:

I should be in the hospital for 2-3 days, then home resting and recovery for 3-6 weeks. Due to the pandemic, I cancelled my Meal Train and can't have visitors. Please send love instead!

Family will update this site with post-surgery details.

Love to you all...take care of yourselves and each other!
