Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated.

On Friday January 27th  our mother, Ellen Ness,  experienced an acute respiratory arrest after eating lunch with our father, Paul.  Mom appeared to have been choking and Dad attempted to assist her using the Hiemlach maneuver and summoned for assistance.  During this time, Mom became unconscious and appeared to have stopped breathing .  Dad, again, tried to help his beloved wife by performing CPR.  Once help arrived, they took over and discovered a pulse. She was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

It has been discovered Mom suffered five broken ribs and a punctured lung as a result of the CPR, has some pneumonia in her lungs, a compromised airway, and has some neurological issues.  She is receiving assistance with support to maintain her life.

Mom has lovingly cared for her husband, Paul, as well has her four children: Diana Keech, Doug Ness, Darlene Schoon and Donna Wendt. She is especially proud of her 8 grandchildren.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
