Welcome to Ellen’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated. We appreciate your prayers and words of hope and encouragement in the well wishes link. We are not trying to collect donations. Thank you! Ellen will be able to read this or have it read to her. So we invite you to leave her a message.

Ellen got Covid in early December of 2021. On December 7th she was admitted to the hospital for low blood oxygen levels.
Since then, Ellen has gone from expecting to come home in a few days to spending 12 days in the ICU. Through all of this, God’s peace remains.

Isaiah 26:3-4 “You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

Ellen got out of the ICU right before Christmas. She was able to have one visitor at a time starting Dec.27th. Ellen’s daughters Allyson and Caitlyn and brother, Dan, each got to visit her. Sadly, on Dec. 30th the hospital closed down to all visitors because of the Covid surge.

On Dec 29th, Ellen requested that these verses be shared with her family and friends.
John 1:4-5 “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

About this same time, Ellen started getting a fever. She had developed pneumonia and sepsis.

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

The antibiotics were working. Her fever went down and then up again.

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

January 5th: Ellen continues to be on high-flow oxygen. More tests were done.

January 6th: Based on Ellen’s CT scan, the doctor diagnosed her with having Pulmonary Fibrosis which is permanent scarring of the lungs.

Jeremiah 32:17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”

January 8th: This morning Ellen sent the song “Wait on You” by Elevation Worship and Maverick City.
Such a beautiful strong message based on Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
