Welcome to Ellen Faurot's CaringBridge site. This site has been created to keep all of Ellen's family and friends updated on her journey with pancreatic cancer. Looking back her journey began on September 11, 2019, while she was visiting her daughter, Michelle, and family up in Hudson, WI. Instead of baking her delicious homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner, on the second day of her visit, she drove herself to the emergency room because of a few symptoms she was experiencing. After getting the initial impressions from the doctors, her entire family felt very strongly that they all had to be together. Her husband Denny flew up from Kalamazoo and her daughter, Megan, and family drove up from Chicago. At the time, none of us ever imagined (and it is still hard to accept) that she would end up being one of the very few diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, so this weekend that we all spent together will forever be etched into our minds. We went to the Hudson High School football game to see Ellen's granddaughter Caitlin play in the marching band, celebrated Michelle's birthday, and went on a nice long walk along the St. Croix River. After returning home to Kalamazoo, Ellen endured a long, arduous month of doctor appointments, tests, and procedures and on Friday, October 18th she received her final diagnosis of locally advanced pancreatic cancer. We all need to come together (and we hope this site will help) to love, support, and fight right alongside her as she undergoes cutting edge treatment and care to continue living a fulfilled life with all of us!
