As many of you know, Elizabeth has been suffering from severe headaches for several months and has been trying to discover the source.  Since she is 17 weeks pregnant, people thought the symptoms might be related to the pregnancy.  However, some have been severe to the point of making her shake because of the pain.  Because the headaches persisted, she went to see a neurologist last week.  The neurologist wasn't sure what the problem might be, but recommended an MRI to rule out a brain tumor.  To our shock and dismay, she, in fact, was diagnosed with a large tumor in the frontal lobe.    We were fortunate to be referred to a renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. David Baskin, at Methodist Hospital.  Elizabeth was admitted to Methodist Hospital  immediately after her MRI on Tuesday, 9/25, and has been here ever since.  She has had numerous MRI's and tests and is scheduled for surgery later this morning (Friday).  The outpouring of love, prayers and support we have received from St. Luke's UMC, and family and friends has been overwhelming and uplifting .  Elizabeth, John and and our family have felt the love that has been expressed and given her confidence to face whatever is ahead.  We are taking this one step at a time, so we are not sure what additional treatments, if any, may be required after surgery today.  Rest assured that despite the seriousness of the situation, we have felt God's love every step of the way.  We appreciate all your love and prayers and will keep you advised of Elizabeth's recovery.
