It all started with a cough last December. They first thought it was bronchitis and then pneumonia. After the chest xray showed that it wasn't clearing, I had a CT scan and then a PET scan. The PET scan showed a tumor in my lung along with some of the lymph nodes in my chest. A lung biopsy confirmed the it was cancer (non-small cell adenocarcinoma). I had my first oncology appointment today. My cancer is a stage 4. My tumor will be sent for genetic testing to see is there is an immunosuppressant drug that might work. In the meantime, I will start chemo next week.
