Welcome to my Caring Bridge site. Thanks for visiting! I promised you a "lighthearted romp through cancer treatment during a global pandemic" and holy hell, that pandemic situation just wouldn't quit. But here we are on the other side, sort of. I HAD Stage 1A triple positive breast cancer...and while my journey is far from over -  I am NED, No Evidence of Disease, as of February 2021, and continuing on through January 2024.  I had "symmetry surgery" on October 5, 2021 which I am recovered from (pathology report was negative). I finished chemotherapy (Taxol, 12 weeks, March 13 to May 29), and then radiation therapy (daily on weekdays for 4 weeks in June/July 2020), then a full year of immunology (Herceptin) treatments (every 3 weeks through February 2021). After several attempts with tamoxifen, and hitting the spectacular milestone of officially being menopausal, I have been working on tolerating Letrozole with some support meds as my long-term hormone therapy to reduce the chance of recurrence. Letrozole is pretty much garbage too and now due to osteopenia I am on Fossamax which at least sounds like a cool dinosaur ride. I'm here to overshare and let you know that you are not alone as you go through your health journey.
