Elizabeth was diagnosed March 11, 2020 with three different congenital heart defects. She has Atrial Septal Defect (a hole between her atria), a cleft mitral valve, and supravalvular pulmonary stenosis (a thickening of the pulmonary artery). All of these defects require her to have open heart surgery. Without this surgery, she is looking at a lower life expectancy, difficulty playing sports and being active, as well as difficulty bearing children. Her cardiologist is confident that this will be her only surgery and will allow her to live a normal life.
