I'm a mom of two, wife, social worker, and a samba dancer. On January 2019 I was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer called DCIS (ductal carcinoma in-situ). DCIS is not invasive cancer, and I've been reassured repeatedly that I will be fine. On Thursday, May the 23rd I'm scheduled for a double mastectomy with reconstruction. I won't know if further treatment will be necessary until the pathology report comes back post-op.
My husband John and I will be posting updates. Some of you have asked how you can help. I'll post some ideas in the "Ways to Help" section of this site as I think of things. But for now, what I'd really like is your good energy.
