Eliot Bieniek

Welcome to Eliot's Caring Bridge site. We thought it would be beneficial to create a special place to update Eliot's progress since his accident on April 11th. Your thoughts and prayers are being felt in tremendous ways. He's a fighter and determined to walk as soon as he can. He says two months, the doctors says three months, time will tell and we are all just happy he is still here with us. We love him very much!

The event that happened that day changed his and all our lives forever.  He was working on his truck in our driveway. While working underneath his truck, while it was up on ramps, (he had not chocked the tires) it rolled down off the ramps and rolled right on and over him, dragging him down the driveway.  He had said he tried to sit up to brace himself, that was when the front truck tire ran over him, crushing his pelvis.  The truck kept rolling backwards across the street, leaving Eliot laying in the driveway twisted and in the worst pain he's ever felt in his life.

We are so thankful for all the amazing neighbors who quickly came to help him until the ambulance arrived to bring him to an awaiting helicopter. He was then airlifted to HCMC. He has multiple fractures in his pelvis, a fractured femur, and a dislocated hip. They put a temporary pin through his femur to apply traction while he awaited surgery to hold his hip in place.  He's since then had two surgeries to repair the damage.

He still has his sense of humor(thank goodness that's still intact)...he's definitely keeping the medical staff enlightened, all the while keeping us all on our toes. We wouldn't trade it all for nothing.

He is going to have long road to recovery and prayers are so needed.  Thank you.
