Elijah Gregory McDaniel was born on July 19th, 2016. He weighed 1 lb 10 oz and was 12 inches long. He was 23 weeks 6 days gestation. He spent the first 7 weeks at Blank Children's in Des Moines. So far, he has had a very long journey. He has had a PDA ligation around 5 weeks of age. Eli also has a stage 4 brain bleed on the right side of his brain; his left is normal. He recently got transferred to Omaha, NE and had part of his intestine removed. Surgeons say he was born with ileal atresia (dead/constricted bowel). This little man has had many blood transfusions, IV's and anything you can think of. He is now 3 lbs 9 oz!
